Since 1985 , Estalens Fish Farm has specialized in the breeding , acclimatization and marketing of fish, invertebrates and plants for aquariums and ponds.

Located in Nogaro in the Gers, on a site of 7 hectares , our structure allows geothermal water management.

Estalens has more than 3500 aquariums and pools in 3 buildings and 1 large greenhouse :

1- The "historic" building reserved for breeding and growing .

2- A building of acclimatization and growing

3- A building reserved for the acclimatization of marine fish

4- a greenhouse: growing in tanks of fish reproduced in Estalens, a Cold Water sector and a Mariculture sector: Acclimatization and multiplication of Corals and Artificial Living Rock .

All stocks are monitored by a computer network, ensuring the traceability of animals in all buildings, including monitoring of growing .

Estalens is a team of professionals passionate about breeding, fish, aquarium hobby.

The breeding facility

1077 aquariums with a total capacity of 177,000 liters.

This unit is intended for breeding (broodstock maintenance, reproduction and growing ) of the species bred here, in particular: scalars ( Pterophyllum spp.), and other Cichlids (more than 500 references in stock!), Gouramis (Osphronemidae) , and viviparous (Poeciliidae, Goodeidae) ...

The hatchery has 5 independent units that can hold up to 150 mini aquariums for hatching and fry growing.

Various species of Cichlids, Loricariidae and others bred locally are started here. The first weeks of growth are very important, the fry therefore benefit from 4 to 5 meals a day. Once the size of a centimeter to 1.5 cm reached, the fry are transferred to aquariums of the breeding facility to carry out the continuation of their growth.

The production of Artemia nauplii, a living food indispensable for rearing, is also carried out at the hatchery.

A storage tank of osmosis water allows always to have very soft water, necessary for certain species for their reproduction.

The "Import/growing" facility

-1730 aquariums with a total capacity of over 200,000 liters.

This unit is geared primarily towards the acclimation and growth of imported juvenile freshwater fish.

The building is dedicated to the acclimatization and growing of imported juvenile fish.

At the center of the building is the shipping area which has 2 packing stations supplied with oxygen for packing fish and compressors for closing the pockets with clips. Four computers (2 fishermen, 2 controllers) allow precise execution of orders and labeling of bags of fish shipped.

The "marine" facility

This unit is divided into two parts: one for the acclimatization and growing of some freshwater species, the other for fish and some marine invertebrates.

The Sea Water section is divided into 2 water circuits: "Fish" circuit and an "Invertebrates" circuit for the storage of marine invertebrates.

The "Fish" circuit of the "seawater" building

The total volume of the circuit is 300,000 liters. This facility includes:

- 2 tanks of 3000 L to accommodate large fish (including sharks, rays, acclimated for Zoos and public aquariums).

- 280 aquariums that can be used in freshwater or in seawater.

The  « chapel » greenhouse :

« Freshwater » greenhouse but also  « Saltwater » greenhouse

A large double-wall horticultural greenhouse is occupied by:

-162 600 L aquariums dedicated to cold water fish.
- 17 pools of 2500L and 44 polyethylene tanks of 1000 L used for the growth of fish from the breeding facility (Cichlids, gouramis, viviparas)
- 1 stainless steel bridge of 48 aquariums (1x0.35x0.40m) allowing the constitution of lot for sale, for fish of our breeding farm growing in this greenhouse (mainly large African Cichlidae)
- 50 1000 L polyethylene tanks outdoors on a newly landscaped area north of the greenhouse for the growth of cold water fish . Much of this area is devoted to the storage and growth of koi from Japan .

-21 pools of 12m² (totaling 63,000 liters) for acclimation, growth and cuttings of marine invertebrates .

-a large pool of 45,000 liters, for the storage of natural seawater.
